Skin care ingredients are as diverse as the people who use them and any google search will result in a plethora of information on what we should and should not be allowing in our products. it can be daunting to try and figure out which are safe and what we should be avoiding. You certainly have better things to do than wade through all of the information available (road trip anyone?) so we've put together a short list debunking some myths surrounding skin care ingredients. Be sure to let us know if there are any ingredients you would like to know more about in the comment section below.
Boondocking is primitive camping so there is no water or electricity readily available unless you find a spot (like Cabellas) that offers septic draining and water fill ups so you may be doing without even those basics. Some people will pack a generator for electricity. We did/do not. We carry lanterns and flashlights to use when needed as we usually park late afternoon/early evening so we can eat and be ready for bed when the sun goes down. If we stay up after dark to chitchat or play games we use our lanterns.
One of the highlights of the last four months is the discovery of making your RV perform double duty! When the call to have as many employees work from home went out people across the country had to clear dinning room tables or confiscate homework stations! Since I already work from home it hadn't occurred to me what others would have to do in order to adapt and continue working. I was surprised one day when I spoke to a friend and she said she was working out of her camper! What an awesome idea! Her husband had recently installed a plug in their garage that would allow them to plug in when they were winterizing for storage or prepping for trips so when they told her to work from home she looked around and started thinking.
I love camping. Waking up every morning to fresh clean air, going on hikes and sight seeing with my husband and our kids, and sitting around the campfire telling stories are some of my favorite things that, for years, outweighed not having my natural skin and hair care products but I had to find a compromise. I wanted to have it all and I couldn't keep neglecting my skin. I wanted natural skin and hair care products that were easy to travel and camp with and wouldn't damage any RV plumbing. Products that would enable me to go from feeling dirty, grimy, and rough to clean, refreshed, and ready for a nice dinner out with my husband if a nice restaurant was close to where we were staying.
